With 20 years of experience and a passion for excellence, Dr. Edward Longwe promotes the health of his community by providing exceptional oral surgical services in a timely, compassionate manner. Dr. Longwe became an oral maxillofacial surgeon to help people. Having experienced dental pain in the past, he understands what his patients are going through and is committed to providing them with the relief they deserve.
Originally from Malawi, Africa, Dr. Longwe attended Indiana University for his undergraduate degree. He continued his studies at Meharry Medical College for his Doctorate of Dental Surgery and Howard University for his oral and maxillofacial surgery training, as well as his residency. After completing his formal training, Dr. Longwe held the position of assistant professor in the oral and maxillofacial department at Howard University.
To stay abreast of current technology and trends in the oral surgical field, Dr. Longwe participates in continuing education every year by visiting the AAOMS annual meetings and courses held by the conference.
Dr. Longwe lives not far from his office in Chantilly. He is a family man with a wife, daughter, and son. When he’s not in the office, Dr. Longwe enjoys playing soccer with his children and visiting local farmers markets for fresh organic produce. He is also a big fan of basketball and football, and participates in community runs for charity.
